Oh my gawd! In the middle of nowhere, Beast (which is a horribly unfortunate name) will take you by surprise. Small and unassuming, this BBQ restaurant is anything but. Big portions, amazing BBQ and interesting sides like organic kale and Brussel sprouts. Also random, they sell Kaldis coffee. Which I got and it was delicious. I also ordered the pulled pork sandwich with slaw on top and side of their smoked bacon Mac and cheese. Amazing. I had so much pulled pork I put half on one side of the bun and ate it open faced for both sides. My gusbac

As a resident of St. Louis, I found my journey to this spot very nerve-wracking. I miss the location they used to have in the Grove. Driving through the downtrodden streets of East St. Louis was very sketchy and filled with moon craters. When I finally made it to smoother streets it was another long journey. If you sneeze, you WILL pass the location. It's got a surface lot that dips down. When I pulled in, hardly any cars were parked up front. Most were parked in clusters on the lot like a used car lot. Once inside you can go to the right for to-go orders or to the left for dining in. No one was at the dining in counter but there was a kiosk. So I started inputting my information to place an order when one of the servers came up to assist us. It was too late for me at that point and I let her know that. My friend was unsure of what she wanted. I ordered a brisket plate with extra sauce thinking maybe they wouldn't have any on the table or something and was charging for it. Maybe it was for to-go orders only? If so, why have a kiosk at the dining stand? Anyways, my sides were brussel sprouts with pork belly and cheddar mac. The lady handed me a table number after I put in my own order and my friend and I picked out a seat in the corner on the to-go side where I sat and faced the door. It had diner vibes like a place folks meet up in movies to plot out how to get their loved one back whose been kidnapped. I was on edge the entire time. One of the ladies working there was on break watching shows on her phone very audibly. The other waitress must of been a customer favorite because one guy was looking for her specifically but she was on break. Again, adding to my crime series diner vibes. Our food came out hot and quick. I stared down at the cheddar mac which in my mind would probably be some dried out yellow AF mac and cheese. Nope, it was soupy in texture and probably made with white cheddar. My friend had brought me a spoon, knife and fork which I was thankful for because I ended up eating my cheddar mac with a spoon. The brisket sat atop of one tortilla so I was confused and thought they messed my order up. I even came to Yelp to make sure I wasn't tripping. It had picked onions on top of 2 pickle slices. Pickles at restaurants make me nervous because usually they are too salty for me. These pickles and onions were perfect together. So I poured some sauce on top of my brisket and topped it with the onions and pickles to form a taco and ate it. I had a mix of lean and fatty brisket so it was flavorful and lean at the same time. Chef's kiss! The cheddar mac was good for the soupy appearance and it was topped with bread crumbs. I searched for pepper on the table and there was none. Would of been better with black pepper on top! On to the sprouts. It was roasted with oil, seasoning and had a few pieces of pork belly throughout. I felt the belly was a bit too crispy but the flavor was on point. My meal was about $20 after taxes and tip and I did not order a soda but asked for a cup for water. The water in Illinois tastes funny to me so I ended up getting bottled water from my car. Some crazy guy came in there begging adding to the sketch vibes so we didn't stay too much longer after that. I wish they'd reopen in STL or in a better location but they've been there for 10 years and the food flavor is why. I'd get a to-go order next time lol. Also eat on the left side of the dining area if you want to stay warm in the winter.

Had lunch at Beast BBQ today and I was so impressed by the quality of the food. The portion of meat on the sandwich and amount of fries also made it a great value as well. Everything from the deliciously unique sauce, pickled onions and fancy bun elevated the sandwich. The employee who helped take my order was very helpful and friendly. There is a dining area and bar area with plenty seating. This is now one of my favorite Bbq places and it's about a 45 min drive for me!

Friendly staff and service was incredibly quick. We came in a group, and by the time the last person ordered, the first person had already gotten their food. We got a lot of food, and I felt like their portions are actually pretty decent (good for taking home leftovers). We ordered the (award winning) mac and cheese, brisket, spare ribs, and fries w/ rib tips. Sides included potato salad and southern slaw. The candied bacon looked good but that was sold out. The mac and cheese definitely lived up to the hype; it was super creamy and cheesy. The cheese blend was very interesting - I couldn't put my finger on what it was but I really liked it. The brisket was tender, with just the right amount of smokiness, and the spare ribs had that perfect fall-off-the-bone texture. The rib tips on the fries were packed with flavor and paired well with the crispy fries underneath. Honestly, it was probably one of the best/crispiest/well-seasoned fries I'd ever had. The BBQ sauces were also really good. The sides didn't disappoint either. The potato salad was creamy and had a good balance of tanginess, and the southern slaw provided a refreshing crunch to cut through the richness of the meats. A little bit bummed we missed out on the candied bacon, but everything we did get was well worth it. Probably one of the better BBQ places we've had in STL, and that's saying a lot from a Texas-boy. 5/5 would come back.

Real deal. That is all I have to say. This was my first time at the belleville location. I was bummed when they shut down the location in the grove as it was a regular spot I hit. In any case, the flagship location is incredible as expected. The interior has 2 primary dining areas. 1 half is small with a traditional bbq joint feel, and the other half has stools and a counter similar to a diner. I thought that was pretty cool. The food was superb. The brisket was fatty, salty, peppery, juicy. Cooked to absolute perfection. Tender and bursting with flavor. The fries are crispy, salty. Amazing. The seasoning they have on them is amazing. Oh, and their fry sauce is tangy perfection. The slaw is great. A pretty traditional slaw with a bit of mustard and vinegar behind a mayo base. Additionally, the tortillas they serve their plates with are so addictive. They crisp them up and it is amazing. The service was great also. The place was jumping for lunch, but they had ample staff to tackle the rush and keep the systems running smooth. I wish they still had the grove location because the belleville location is a small road trip for me, but well worth it.

Came in for an earlier lunch while we were in the area on Saturday. Pretty quiet still and there was no line (11:30am) I went for the turkey plate with side salad and baked beans, my husband did 2 meats with brisket & kielbasa - Mac & cheese and Brussel sprouts on the side. Loved that the plates come with 2 stretchy delicious homemade tortillas. I made some BBQ tacos. Portions were judge and we had plenty for another meal. Wish they still had their grove location but this wasn't too far and is definitely worth the drive! Will be back.

Fast casual spot with a bar but they don't serve alcohol. Plenty of seating. We got take out about 5pm on Saturday. 6pc smoke fried wings with two sides, pulled pork sandwich with a side, a la carte side of brisket and the comp'd pulled pork bit given for downloading the app. The staff were really nice and patient. It wasn't busy so no pressure to make decisions but I suggest know what you want before you go in. Get the app and place your order online. I attempted to order from their site and the system won't allow online orders at this time. Everything was good but the best was the wings. Juicy, crispy, and has a great dry rub blend. We got way too much food but worth it!! We'll definitely hit here again when in town.
